Intrigued to learn that Elnor Andresson, niece to his boss, has travelled over a thousand kilometres from her home – in something of a state – after finding that her entire family have unaccountably vanished, Julnir Serdan, a research scientist striving to create a workable internal-combustion engine, agrees to use at least part of his annual holiday investigating the mystery.
On arrival at the Andresson Estate they find that the house has indeed been strangely abandoned, but the discovery of a set of very alien looking footprints in a patch of spilt flour on the kitchen floor is but the first step of a horrific journey down the most ghastly and grisly path it is possible to imagine. It was to be a path leading inevitably towards the systematic mutilation and death for the entire world's population – and quite possibly beyond!
It was clearly a job for the Klylii. But would they ever know, for Julnir was wholly ignorant of I'ynlaa's very existence. However some help WAS at hand, though quite what the displaced crew of the star-trading ship Sarucia could do was a bit of a debatable question...

I love books that continue on, as I get into the characters and the settings and hate when a good book ends. This series has over 15 books and while they can all stand on their own, they also intertwine story lines from other books into later books. Some times with out much fan fair and if you aren't really paying attention you may not even know it. I am going to reread the whole series again after I finish it just to catch all the links.Product details

This is a story about regular humans, stranded Klylii trying to leave this planet over roughly 400 years, bad aliens, and the traders that get ship wrecked. This story is really hard to put down.
I'm now immediately ready to start on #7
